I saw it opening week at the ultra-special Sundance Film Cinemas in San Francisco. It was at the Saturday matinee and there was a respectable number of fans in the audience. I found it quite clever how they interwove the Morrison film with this new film documentary. I was well prepared from reading reviews to know that it was indeed Morrison in the opening scene.....in that scene, someone not knowing any better, may have been confused. If you have seen most of what has been released on The Doors via documentaries or concert films, there is not a lot that is new. It is the way that O'cillio assembled the final footage that made it more cohesive and thus, more entertaining. Unfortunately, there was this audience member that seemed to laugh at all the parts that were not meant to be comical. Not much was meant to be comical anyway. However, this person made the entire experience less enjoyable for me. Thankfully, I had the soundtrack to relish in, once I left the cinema.

Mr. Mojo Risin was actually on the screen driving an old Ford Mustang in the desert....that alone was enuff to make the movie worth seeing! Loved the movie....the best movie about the Doors that is out there in my opinion!

I grew up when the original was first released; Old School... Child was I? Yes; Imaginary world, It was, and Is; I will Always be - 7,8,11,13,16,18, 21...??? Dream did I, Indeed! What I see is "[ Choice ]" taking the dream world of a child's mind; Molding it into a "Freaky Side Show Mindset Factory". Do I see "[ Choices ]" World Here? Just out of "[ Curiosity ]" is '[ Choice ]" doing some "[ Ego/House ]" remodeling in the Children's (Homes/Minds). Well just two cents worth of ++thoughts++ and ++ideas++ developed from the boring World of Disney? Well maybe not hey... ++Cause++ we all know that Disney is still rocking...Remember I am Old School... --Their-- just a little Sleepy right now! Right Beans?? Anyone have some Coffee? As we really dig their hearts and minds! Re-Runs anyone? Anyone remember when the Lady said Hello to thee distinguished gentleman? Or when spots came home. Who will ever forget the that crazy hair, stripes, or even...

It ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!

Liked the movie. It was an interesting, behind the scenes look at the doors and Jim Morrison with all real footage taken from their lives. Director did a good job showing a different side of the band and tying all the footage together to tell a story. Johnny Depp did an excellent job narrating. Music fans in their twenties and older will enjoy this film.
